Thankful

There is always, always, always something to be thankful for. I read these words every day. They are on a sign on my mantle. It’s an excellent reminder.

After busy days of work and running the kids around and just doing this thing called life, it is easy to forget to be thankful and to count your blessings. I’m incredibly guilty of getting sucked into the chaos and madness. This sign is a great reminder, not just for me, but for my kids and any other person who walks through our doors.

With Thanksgiving next week, it is a great time to be thankful. Thankful for family. Thankful for friends. Thankful for pie and all the other Thanksgiving food I will spend 2 days preparing. Thankful for traditions – like watching Planes, Trains and Automobiles while I bake. Thankful for a job that allows me to have time off so I can cook for a small army. Thankful for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thanksgiving morning. I could go on but I think you get the point.

Over the next week, I challenge you to be thankful for something each day. If it’s a person, tell them. If it is a tradition, then make sure you carry it out this year. If it is a food or dessert, make sure you make it. If it is a movie you like to watch each year, make time to watch it and make sure you share it with someone.

What are your favorite Thanksgiving traditions? What is your favorite Thanksgiving food? What will bring you joy this holiday?

xoxo, Jane Anne
