Make A List

On any given day, I have what feels like a million thoughts, ideas, and things to do. Maybe this is why I make lists. I literally make lists everyday. Most lists end up on the back of an envelope or a receipt or 23 sticky notes on my desk. If I have time, I write them on a legal pad or a fancy notepad. Those are the extra special days when I know I’m going to get every thing done.

Some of my lists are bigger than just what needs to get done in a day. I have a 50 Things To Do Before 50 list, a 5 year plan list, a list of songs to make a new playlist, a list of business ideas, a list of places I want to travel to, and an ongoing Target list (who doesn’t have one of those).

Marking things off the list gives me a sense of accomplishment. What I don’t get finished gets moved over to the next day’s list. I like to have a plan. I like to get things done. Getting things done gives me joy.

Lists don’t have to be long or complicated. My lists keep me focused and things get added to them throughout the day. Start small if it helps. What are 3 things you want to get done today? Make a list.

xoxo, Jane Anne
